March 31 – April 1: Implementing Mexican American Studies in Texas Public Schools: The Power of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences’ Center for Mexican American Studies is hosting a conference titled, "Implementing Mexican American Studies in Texas Public Schools: The Power of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy." The conference will be held on March 31 and April 1. Aimed at school superintendents, principals, teachers, school board members, and community residents, the purpose of the conference is to demonstrate how implementing Mexican American studies in public schools significantly improves academic performance, attendance rates, graduation rates, and the self-esteem of students. learn more
