UH Master of Public Administration Program Hosts Awards Luncheon

The University of Houston Master of Public Administration Program will host its first awards luncheon Friday (Feb. 24) to recognize the program's Public Official of the Year for 2011.

The MPA Program Award Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion, M.D. Anderson Library. Keynote speaker David Firestein, author, public diplomacy expert and former U.S. diplomat, will talk about the merits of public service. The event is sponsored by Peter Brown, director of Better Houston.

The UH College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences also will host, in conjunction with the political science department, two roundtables on Friday (Feb. 24). One at 9 a.m. will be about China and U.S. relations, and another at 2:30 p.m. will be about careers in foreign service. Both are hosted by Firestein and will be held in the Honors College at MD.
