2:30 p.m. UPDATE:
The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) expired at noon today. According to the NWS, expect cold conditions tonight, with very little heating. High temperatures should only reach the 30s.
Forecasts call for temperatures to reach 60 degrees tomorrow (Jan. 25.) The University of Houston will be open for normal operations and classes, and events are proceeding as scheduled. Please continue to exercise caution if you are traveling to and from campus.
As the situation may change, UHDPS will continue to update the University Emergency Operations Center website. Updates can be viewed at www.uh.edu/emergency.
5:50 a.m. UPDATE:
As a result of inclement weather and icy roads, the University of Houston (main campus) has canceled classes for today (Jan. 24).
University buildings remain open, but only essential personnel should report for work. Please check in with your supervisors.
University personnel are adding sand and salt to the roads and pathways to the University to create a safe environment for those in the campus area. However, employees driving to campus should exercise extreme caution.

Road Conditions:
9:42 a.m. UPDATE: UH police are warning motorists traveling to the UH campus to watch out
for black ice on the roads leading to the University. Expect areas to be
impassable, and exercise caution on all roadways leading to the campus.
MLK
and Calhoun between Wheeler Street and Old Spanish Trail are considered
icy and are hazardous. Use caution and good judgment.
