University of Houston’s ‘Salute to Retail’ Set for Next Week

Event to Benefit Scholarships, Endowment for Retailing Programs

Legendary fashion designer Victor Costa will be honored at the “Salute to Retail 2015” luncheon and awards presentation Tuesday, Nov. 17.

“Salute to Retail” is held every two years to raise money for the Merchandising Star Award Endowment, which was established in 2004 to support the College of Technology retailing program through scholarships, continuing education programs and other needs. Costa, a Houston native and alumnus of UH, will receive the Legends Award in recognition of his work, which has been featured by retailers around the world.

Other honorees include Julie Phillips Roberts, owner of the Elizabeth Anthony boutique; Tamara Klosz Bonar and Lenny T. Matuszewski Jr., who produce fashion events; Bradley H. Marks and Joanna Marks of IW Marks Jewelers Inc., and Pam Kuhl-Linscomb and Dan Linscomb, owners of Kuhl-Linscomb.

Welcome W. Wilson Sr. and Joanne Wilson will be honored for their community service. Wilson, a developer, is a former chairman of the UH System Board of Regents.
